This week Connected Researchers shared a great review of the TetraScience lab monitoring solution on their popular blog for digital research tools. "Surprisingly, our lab instruments are commonly left alone without any supervision, hoping they will function 'as normal' throughout their lifetimes. But of course that is wishful thinking... TetraScience is a company amongst a few others thinking of bringing a new layer of information to modern experimentation." You can continue reading the TetraScience feature here.
We're big fans of Connected Researchers here at TetraScience. Any researcher who is passionate about innovative lab technology, especially on the software side, is no stranger to the site. The man behind Connected Researchers, Dr. Thomas Crouzier, has created an amazing resource for scientists who want to learn about, and use, cutting edge cloud solutions to accelerate the scientific process. In Thomas' words:
I often feel like research is stuck in the 1990s, when emails and word processors were the only tools we had to communicate. This is 2016, where are the Facebooks, the Kickstarters, the Google Docs for researchers?
Web-based tools for researcher do exist! You just might not know about them. Research-orientated social networking sites, tools to support scientific research, to manage labs and data, and to better communicate have been multiplying over the past years. These tools could change the way we do research. But the adoption rate is still slow, partly due to the lack of awareness.
This blog keeps readers updated on new services, provide short reviews and keeps an extensive list of web-based tools for researchers.
We couldn't agree more. We recently evaluated Why is scientific software so bad? here on our own blog.
Stay tuned because we'll have more with Thomas in a future post. For now, check out Connected Researchers and let us know what your other favorite cloud-based research tools are!
